How’s the world today?

My name is Harry, Harry Stotle. Well, I wish this would be my real name. Aristotle always was my favourite thinker. I particularly like the epitaph Adam Smith suggested for him: ‘Aristotle, a philosopher who certainly knew the world’.

Why don’t I use my real identity in this blog? If you knew more about my environment, you would’nt ask.

I was born somewhere in Europe, half a century ago, and I share my life between 3 beautiful cities (in different countries).

Why do I use English in this blog, when this is not my mother tongue and my vocabulary has about he extent of hillbillie’s (well, the same number of words, not exactly the same choice of words)? Most of my friends understand English. Many cannot read any other language I could write. Somehow it also gives me more freedom.

I used to be an academic. My training was both in humanities and science.

My professional activity is now in a large part devoted to technology and innovation.

I am happily married. I have 2 children.

What else should you know?

I started this blog at the suggestion of several friends, who are not opposed to contrarian thinking.

I do not care much about the number of people who read me. If here and then I can find a couple of people sharing interests and willing to discuss, I shall be fully rewarded.

The world still seems strange to me, even though I am now getting somewhat familiar with it.

This is what this blog is all about.
